Quite often the reason for rising damp is not house itself, but leaking pipe somewhere underneath the property, leaks can be small, but after sometime, damp will accumulate and attack walls of your house. This is very hard to locate, and usually involves digging quite a lot... Damp is a serious problem and it may decrease value of your property significanlty, therefore we advice apart from damp proofing, proper investigation of pipework leading to your house. Sometimes it's not one thing causing dampness but few, like bad ventillation, leaking roof, damaged window seals.
